The Full Story
Robbie cut his teeth under legendary producer Mike Hedges at Wessex Studios, before moving onto RAK studios and going freelance back in 2004, becoming the engineer of choice for many leading producers.
Renowned for being a calming influence under pressure, Robbie has gained a reputation for his exceptional and interesting drum recording , he loves finding new ways to distort and mangle drum kits.
In 2015, Robbie secured 3 Grammys (Album Of The Year, Best Engineered Album, Best Rock Album) for his work on Beck's 'Morning Phase' along with the 2015 MPG Breakthrough Engineer of the Year award.
2020/21 included work on 3 more grammy nominated records, BMTH - AMO, Gregory Porter - All Rise, Burna Boy- Twice as Tall with the later winning a best Global album. As well as engineering on the Emmy award winning track by long term collaborator Labrinth 'All For Us'.
The last few years have seen Robbie continue his work with the Rolling Stones and The Faces while also spending much of his time producing and mixing in Immersive Audio , including immersive album mixes for The Mysterines, Another Sky and Sam Fischer.
